Oh, but is that to say the direct messages I receive like the ones below are bad? I mean, aren't these enticing?

It allows for little wonder why many people do not understand the real value of quality Internet marketing when they come to a professional. This is what they have seen, so this is what they think Internet marketing is. The absurdity is shocking.

I removed the links, but I am curious if I had left the links, would YOU be a buyer? Would YOU have clicked?

Recently in my direct messages:

Come and Grab my Secrets for Free (*link*)

My gift for following:) (*link*) years in the making to bring you this special deal!

hey can u retweet my website so pple can shop@ (*link*) thanks

This website "forces" money into your pocket -- Guaranteed!
I agree and I suspect that either of us could rant about this at great length.

The matter of presenting advertisements with an old-school message of "Buy This Now" simply shows they do not understand people. Trying to attract the person who says "oooh, lookie ... it is so shiny" is a small-minded approach, often attempted by small-minded people. It often takes failure to learn a lesson. They will be sad to find that they reduce their voice and their appeal with each effort. Sure, they may find a few takers, but they are generally only advertising to other advertisers, but are not found relevant to the actual customers.

Natural selection will eventually take them out, and we can smile when we see these "Internet marketing experts" wiping down our car at the car wash. :-)

From how I see it, Twitter has already been targeted by spammers. If you can look closely on the tweets of various twitter accounts, you will notice that they are filled with spam.

Personally, I'd like to see really stringent action taken against spammers--like having their websites and emails closed down and their IP blocked en masse. That's my dream. :)

Yes, I admit I've taken part in followfriday, and it was nice in the beginning, but now it is simply extremely irritating and i don't think it provides a useful purpose as most of those taking part are simply spammers.

and what about the porn spam. It's so annoying.. I wish there was an easy way to go through the people who follow you and block them enmasse AND flag them so others with those followers can do the same.
