Serendipity

Yesterday my daughter and I went to the mall. It was a cold, rainy day but she was desperate to get out. She has been mainly home since her daughter was born two weeks ago, and my two-and-a-half year old grandson was also desperate to stretch his legs. Sitting outside our favorite coffee shop I felt so blessed watching my daughter tend to her baby and the little one running around burning off some of his energy.

But then I remembered my two daughters, sons-in-law and my four other beautiful grandchildren so far away in Raleigh. Tears came to my eyes, I miss them so much.

I’ll be seeing them again in a few short weeks but having your family all over the world is not an easy way to live.
