My Biggest SEO Mistake…
Was leaving my website in the care of someone else. Granted, that person knew a lot about HTML and other markup languages. But she was not clued in about SEO and how to make a website attractive to the search engines.
Because I was spending a lot of time writing, I had no room in my schedule for my website. I thought it was “secondary.” I only realized quite late in the game that I’d made a big mistake. The damage done by my erstwhile webmaster has taken me two full years to repair, and even now I’m still not where I feel I should be. ![]()
Starting out I had a Google page rank of 3–that was in the beginning before I had acquired SEO skills. Now, for two years I have had a page rank of 2 for my home page, when all my other pages are ranked 4!
Who knows what insults Google perceived from clumsy website creation.
Now I know better. I’d never leave my websites in the care of someone else. If I don’t have time to do something, then it simply waits until I’m free. Doing nothing is better than doing the wrong thing as far as SEO is concerned.
