Are We Being Too Nice?

Now here’s an interesting concept.

I have been cultivating my ‘nicer side’ for years in order to succeed in business. This guy is proud of thriving on controversy. Would it work for all of us? Well, it might create a surge in your site statistics….

But I strongly doubt that it would create a permanent fanclub. And, all joking aside, it must be terribly stressful trying to take on the world all the time. I’m not one to shirk my duty if something tricky needs to be said, but that’s different to spending your days actually looking for something to fight about. I think I’ll stick with trying to be pleasant to build a business. What do you think?

I’ve always heard that controversy is a great marketing tactic. It appeals to peoples general nature :-) We don’t stop to read papers that report positive news, likewise we don’t go back and forth between two major blog sites that are blowing kisses and hugs at each other….however, get a case where TechCrunch is accused of being overlooked in the PR drop because they are in Silicon valley and people are all over it, lol
